It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Isn't Christmas just great? This morning Hurley and I have been sitting here next to our Christmas tree, listening to Handel's Messiah, and thinking about how great this time of year is. I actually don't know what Hurley is thinking about, but anyhoo... I have always loved the Christmas season. When I was a kid I loved it because I knew it meant new Ninja Turtles and GameBoy games. When I was in high school, I loved it because I knew that it meant some time off from school. On my mission, I loved it because it meant a good dinner at our zone conference and I got to call home to my awesome family. Now that I'm an "adult" I think I love it more than ever. This whole season is a chance for us to take a step back and think about what we can do for others. This year I'm not thinking about getting a break from school (although that is a definite plus), or getting awesome presents. But this year I have really been thinking about what a great season of giving this is. It is a time when families take extra time to be together, and when everyone thinks about how to make sure their loved ones know that they are loved. Most of all, this is a holiday about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Christmas is a celebration of His birth. And what better way to celebrate Him than to show love and charity to those around us? I truly hope that despite the craziness around us we can all remember what Christmas is really about. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
